Information Security Officer Job Responsibilities
- Create and put into action security guidelines and practices to safeguard sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and assess security risks to the organization’s information assets.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate security risks.
- Educate employees on security policies and best practices.
- Conduct regular training to keep staff informed about new threats and security measures.
- Develop and manage incident response plans to handle security breaches.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to respond to and recover from security incidents.
- Monitor networks and systems for security breaches.
- Analyze security logs and reports to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Partner with executives and stakeholders to align security measures with business objectives.
- Continuously improve the organization’s security posture by researching and adopting new solutions.

Ideal Candidate
- Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, network security, and cybersecurity principles.
- Knowledgeable about security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
- Ability to analyze complex information and identify security risks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to tackle and reduce security threats.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to present complex security concepts clearly and concisely.
- Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field (desirable).
